Notes
Vol.01 - Early American Folk Music
Great ballads coming out of the Appalachian Mountains region in the United States. Mostly a mix of English, Irish and Scottish ballads with other European and African influences, played mostly on fiddle, banjo and dulcimer. A few of the earliest recordings included in the mix are from 1920, though some of the songs are much older, even before the American Civil War.
