Notes
"Watermelon Man" is a jazz standard written by Herbie Hancock, first released on his debut album, Takin' Off (1962). It was the first piece of music Herbie had ever composed with a commercial goal in mind. It has been recorded by many artists over the last five decades! Enjoy these cool versions!

I was diggin' the Johnny Winter mix. His passing is a great loss to the music world. I got to see him at least twice (I think- a little cloudy sometimes!), in small venues with just bass and drums. What a showman! Thanks

@jumbo-tron Thanks, jumbo-tron! Yes, Johnny's loss left a huge void in music. As he was one of my musical heroes while I was coming up, it was a great honor and pleasure meeting him and getting to hang out and listen to his stories. I was working in his brother Edgar's Band and he came by to a studio session we were doing. He even sang some backup vocals with us on one tune. That was an unforgettable experience as you can imagine.
