It was the middle of summer. I was at camp and we did a secret Santa exchange. We drew names. I drew the one super religious guy at camp, a priest. The weekend before the gift exchange I went on a trip to PEI and stumbled across a garage sale. I showed interest in their snow globes and musical boxes. They took me inside. They were collectors. Snow globes everywhere. I bought a snow globe with a scene of Jesus dragging a crucifix across a field. The next week I nervously handed over the snow globe to the priest and watched him unwrap it. He opened it and looked at me. He paused, took a long look at the globe, snow falling on Jesus. He then reached out, put is hand on my shoulder and said, "at least somewhere here remembers who this day is really about."
